Learning About Decimal Numbers Through Shopping Fun!

We explored decimal numbers in a practical and exciting way — by using money.

• Shopping Activities: We created our own shopping scenarios, making up amounts and using coins to calculate totals and work out change.

• Decimal Sums: After working with notes and coins, we moved on to recording our calculations using decimal sums, building confidence in real-world maths skills.

• Drama in Action: To make learning even more engaging, we brought our shopping activities to life through drama. Everyone had fun acting out their roles as shopkeepers and customers!

It was a fantastic hands-on experience that combined maths, creativity, and teamwork.
