Primary 1 have had lots of fun during Learning through Play this half term as we explored our topic ‘Snowy Lands’.
We've enjoyed building dens and hideouts, dressing up as Polar Explorers, searching for the animals who live in Snowy Lands and catching fish to cook on the campfire for polar picnics! We've had fun creating imaginative Arctic landscapes with Duplo blocks and the water tray has been transformed into an icy Antarctic sea full of orcas and penguins. We even drew around our own feet to create footprint penguin pictures!
We've had fun making our own Snow Dough by mixing cornflour and baby oil - all the fun of real snow without the added chilliness! We also enjoyed exploring ice eggs, using warm water to melt the ice and find the tiny penguins hidden inside.
To finish off our topic, we made some yummy melted snowman biscuits - lots of fun to make and even more fun to eat!
