Baking bread in Primary 1 👩‍🍳

This half-term our topic has been 'Fun on the Farm'. We have been learning about how wheat is harvested, milled into flour and baked into bread. 

We enjoyed reading the story of 'The Little Red Hen' so much that we decided to have a go at making our own bread rolls. First we worked together as a big class team to knead the bread inside a plastic bag. Then we had to leave the dough to prove and get really big. Next we shaped the dough into small rolls and left it to prove one more time. We baked our bread rolls and left them to cool. Finally (and most importantly) we enjoyed eating our rolls with lots of creamy butter! 😋
